Today, just want to share with you comparison between YELLOW GOLD, WHITE GOLD, SILVER and PLATINUM.  We also always wonder why when we purchased gold, the price will follow current market price and when we want to sell it, it will be some deduction. We will share with you all today one by one..

There are some categories of Yellow Gold that we are familiar. Such as 916, 835, 750 and 375 gold. Like I said before all of this gold will be categories by its purity. For example 916 gold has 91.6% of gold and others percentage will be zinc and copper. For engagement ring or wedding ring, manufacturer will used 750 or 375 gold to make it more durable so it can hold the gemstone.

For YELLOW GOLD, it will be categories by its percentage. It will starting from 999.9 gold, which mean it have 99.99% of GOLD.  Usually  it will be combine with ZINC and COPPER to make it more DURABLE. More percentage of GOLD, will make it more PURE but less DURABLE.  In market, they will sell it as GOLD BAR, GOLD NUGGET or some jewelry such RING

Yellow Gold looks nice on everyone but particularly beautiful if compare with olive and  dark color skin. Therefore manufacturer sell WHITE GOLD and PLATINUM as alternative. 

For WHITE GOLD, it also will be categories based on it purity, same like YELLOW GOLD. However, in market you will see 750 and 375 white gold. Which mean composition of white gold are 75% and 37.5%. White gold often contain NICKEL, PALLADIUM and MANGANESE to provide strength.

For PLATINUM, usually we will confused on judgement between white gold and platinum. Platinum is a chemical element  with the symbol Pt. It is a dense, malleable, ductile, highly unreactive, precious, silverish-white transition metal . Its name is derived from the Spanish term platino, meaning “little silver. Due to its unreactive character and also very durable, PLATINUM also become one of the favourite choice to make jewelry for men.
