■ Merupakan gred emas yang paling tinggi kerana mempunyai 99.9% kandungan emas.
■ Tidak dicampur dengan bahan lain.
■ Juga dikenali sebagai Emas 10 dan Emas 24 Karat (24K).
■ Kebanyakkan berbentuk jongkong emas (gold bar).
■ Merupakan emas yang paling lembut berbanding emas-emas lain.

 EMAS 950
■ Mempunyai 95.0% kandungan emas.
■ Mempunyai 5.0% campuran kandungan lain seperti besi, aluminium dan sebagainya.
■ Juga dikenali sebagai Emas 23 Karat (23K).

■ Mempunyai kandungan 91.6% emas.

■ Mempunyai 83.5% kandungan emas.

■ Mempunyai 75% kandungan emas.
■ Mempunyai 25% campuran kandungan lain seperti besi, tembaga, aluminium dan sebagainya.
■ Juga dikenali sebagai Paun atau Emas 18 Karat (18K)
■ Kurang popular dikalangan pembeli emas kerana mutu kandungan emas di dalamnya adalah kurang.
■ Kebanyakkan cincin emas yang berbatu merupakan emas gred 750 kerana gred emas ini lebih kuat untuk mengikat batu tersebut berbanding emas gred 916.

Louis Vuitton has so many counterfeited and second hand market also keep growing day by day. Sometimes it can be very difficult to determine the authenticity. Louis Vuitton Speedy and Speedy Bandouliere is the most classic and popular of all time among the Louis Vuitton bags.

General misconception

1. Fake Bag = Low Quality + Fake at first Sight?

Nowadays, high quality replica bags are made out of similar materials (canvas, lambskin, etc.) and some even tear the authentic bag apart and make the exact same patterns based on the original. That is why it is hard to tell whether the bag is real or fake by just looking at it.

2. Louis Vuitton Canvas: Color, Texture. Are they always the same?

How to spot fake Louis Vuitton bag?

1. Canvas

Even the color & texture might be different, but the prints will always be the same. For example, on the front/back of Speedy 25 Monogram bag, there are 6 solid flowers in one row and 3 hollow + 3 LV in one row. On the front/back of Speedy 25 Damier Ebene & Azur, there are 15 square checks in one row (8 & 7 dark or light squares respectively). The two bags below are all authentic Louis Vuitton Speedy Bandouliere.

2. Chap & Stitching

Stitching is the important part because every Louis Vuitton bag will have a perfect stitching. Some more, the number of stitching on the particular style are always same.

The flat chap and the small button is on higher position above the stitching for the old model, while for the new model, the chap is more puffy and the button is inside the stitching.

The number of stitching is also different between the two versions. The older model, Monogram & Damier Azur have 5-4-5 stitches while Damier Ebene has 6-5-7 stitches.

The chaps on all the newer models are more puffy  than the old models, the chap on the Damier Ebene (treated leather) is more puffy than Monogram & Damier Azur (vachetta leather).

As the photo shown below, you can see that the replica bag (it’s actually a very high quality one) got the stitches right, but some of the stitches are doubled, which should not happen on an authentic Speedy bag in most cases.

3. Date Code

Most date codes are a combination of letters and numbers. The letters indicated the country in which the item was made while the numbers indicate the month/year of the production date.

The format of the date codes:
•Prior to early 1980s. No date codes.
•Early 1980s. Three or four numbers with the first two numbers representing the year and last number(s) representing the month.
•Early to late 1980s. Three or four numbers followed by two letters with the first two numbers representing the year, the next number(s) representing the month and the last two letters representing the country.
•1990 to 2006. Two letters followed by four numbers with the first two letters representing the factory location, the first and third numbers representing the month and the second and fourth numbers representing the year.
•2007 and newer. Two letters followed by four numbers with the first two letters representing the factory location, the first and third numbers representing the week of the year, and the second and fourth numbers representing the year.
•Louis Vuitton Factory Location Codes:
France: A0, A1, A2, AA, AAS (Special Order), AH, AN, AR, AS, BA, BJ, BU, DR, DU, DR, DT, CO, CT, CX, ET, FL, LW, MB, MI, NO, RA, RI, SD, SF, SL, SN, SP, SR, TJ, TH, TR, TS, VI, VX.
Germany: LP, OL. Italy BC, BO, CE, FO, MA, OB, PL, RC, RE, SA, TD.
Spain: BC, CA, LO, LB, LM, LW, GI, UB.

The difference between authentic and fake bag can be seen where the letters and numbers are thicker and spread more widely on authentic bags the font also looks different.

4. Other Letter Fonts – Hardware, Brand Name and “Made in” Tag

Made in Tag

The “made in” tags usually inside Louis Vuitton bags, but for Speedy bags, they are actually on the outside. For Speedy bags, it’s on the “tongue” on the edge of the bag; for Speedy Bandouliere, it’s on the bottom of the vachetta on the side where the straps are connected to the bag.

Firstly, the registered trademark symbol (®) is slightly smaller on the authentic Louis Vuitton. As to the letter fonts, the biggest differences are “O” and “e”.

The authentic Louis Vuitton always has round and large “O” and it applies to all Louis Vuitton bags. On the replica bag, especially VUITT”O”N, the letter is not as round and full as the authentic one. The lowercase “e” is quite difficult to stamp on because it is so small, you can see that it almost closes on the replica Louis Vuitton Speedy while there is plenty empty space on the authentic bag.

Please note that some models of Speedy Bandouliere only have “LOUIS VUITTON PARIS” with no “made in xx”.

Hardware: Buttons

The finishing of the hardware is not an authentication standard, the imprints are. The imprints on the authentic button is much smoother than the replica. The letters on the authentic button is much larger and closer to the edge. There are also noticeable differences with letters “U” and “S” as they are more “square” on the authentic button. Believe it or not, hardware is the hardest part to get it right when making a replica Louis Vuitton bag.

1. Leather

Hermes uses the highest quality of leather so there will be no smell and the feel of the authentic Hermes bag. It should not bulge or slouch too much even the bag is the pre-loved one.

2. Piping

Even the bag is well used, the piping should not be very torn and rubbed.

3. Hardware

Hermes usually uses palladium or gold plated on their hardware which means it will not faded or tarnish. It usually looks and feels heavy.

4. Lock

The lock and keys are smooths with no burrs and blemishes and the engraving also very neat and clear.

5. Clochette

Keys are attached directly to the leather band. Clochette also been made of one piece leather folded on the top. The stitching also should be perfect as it’s handmade and hand-stitched.

6. Zipper

There should be “Hermes” engraving on the metal puller. The puller also must be aligned with the zipper all the time.

7. Heat stamp

All Hermes bag have a heat stamp. It can be both, either gold or silver heat stamp depends on the model and color. It has Hermes logo and the phrase “Made in France” with uppercase using the original font on the heat stamp. It’s all centered and heavenly lined up.

8. Blind stamp

Blind stamp is a code featuring a letter and often in a shape that indicates when the bag was manufactured. Additional numbers next to the blind stamp indicate the section at the atelier where the artisan who crafted the bags work. The square also should be neat and crisp.
