But, how do you know you bought a real gold, white gold, platinum or silver?

Make sure check before purchase the jewelries.

We have some steps for you to do checking by yourself during your purchase.

Magnet

You can bring a small magnet to the jewelry shop. You can easily check by the magnet itself. If there are some reaction from the magnet, please consider to purchase it. Items which has reaction from magnet which means it’s plated with gold and there are some other material in the jewelries. 

*Note: Some jewelries will stick on the magenet such as the necklace hook and  the bangle hook because there is spring inside. Please check carefully before judgement. 

 Seal/ Engrave/ Stamping

Most of the people also don’t have any idea for the gold stamping/ seal / engrave mark on the jewelries. Most of the jewelries have the seal on it excepted for the old jewelries. You can check the seal by yourself. Most of the Ring will be hidden inside. Earrings usually will stamped on the stopper, Necklace, Pendant and Bracelet usually will be on the hook. Gold coin and Gold bar you can easily found on it. 

The grade of the gold would be 999.9, 999, 916,835, 750, 585 and 375. These are the most common seal for jewelries. 

Of course there are some other seal for that such as 足金，盾金，钱金，久金 and so on…

*Note: Please don’t buy the seal with GP (gold plated), GF (Gold Filled), GR (GOld Rolled, GRG, GE (Gold Electroplate), GEP (Gold Electroplate),  GK (Gold Kit) , K18 1M ( 1mm gold plated ), K18 2M ( 2mm gold plated ), K18 3M ( 3mm gold plated ), Plated 18K (Gold plated) Filled 18K (Gold Plated), Silver 925F (Silver Plated), Plating (Plated) , 750P (Plated), 226 (Alloy, mixed with different material), 334 (Alloy, mixed with different material), HE/HK/HP (Hafnium), KF (Gold Filled) , EP ( Electroplate), RBS/RDG/RGP/RUP (Rhodium), PF/PT-F (Platinum Plated) , PD ( Palladium ), SP/STP/SPT/SPM (Steel Plated), and etc…

The texture of the jewelries

You can also check out the texture of the jewelries. if you can see some dark spot like the color plated. You need to beware of it. 

Smell 

You can simple just smell the taste of the jewelries. If the taste like metal, it’s usually a kind of metal plated with gold/white gold/platinum/ silver.
