I received excellent service while selling my GMT-Master

I brought a Rolex watch that I found at home to Jewel Cafe. I myself am indifferent about watches and did not even know it was a GMT-Master, but a friend who had visited Jewel Cafe before recommended it to me and so I decided to request an appraisal from them. The store was cheery, and the staff there readily attended to me. She carefully explained that the watch I brought in was a Rolex GMT-Master, a popular model that would fetch a good price, and this put my mind at ease. I am very satisfied with the amount I received for the GMT-Master and am really happy to be able to sell it for a higher price than I had expected. I even received a gift before I left, which made me feel glad to have sold the watch at Jewel Cafe. I will definitely come again.

I sold a Rolex GMT-Master

I managed to sell a GMT-Master. I bought it about ten years ago but decided to sell it because I rarely get to wear it anymore. I looked up "Rolex GMT-Master buyback" on the Internet and went to the nearest store to have it appraised. I was a little worried because I did not take very good care of the watch and it was not in the best condition, but the store staff assessed it carefully. The offer price was higher than I expected, and so I sold it for a very satisfactory amount. I intend to use the money to buy another watch.

I sold my GMT Master!

I bought a Rolex GMT-Master 5 years ago after getting promoted, but since I was not using it I decided to get it estimated. I was unsure about whether to part with it, especially considering the maintenance cost. In any case I looked up buyback stores that accepted GMT-Masters and found Jewel Cafe. I didn't know the second-hand market value of a GMT-Master, but the store staff informed me that used Rolex watches fetched a good price. Half-expectantly, I awaited the result of the appraisal, and was very satisfied to discover that the watch was worth more than I had thought. The GMT-Master was the only luxury watch I owned, but I will still come again as they also accept other items.

I sold the GMT-Master I had bought to celebrate my promotion

When I got promoted my family suggested that I buy myself something as a reward, so I went and got a GMT-Master, which I had been wanting for a long time. I finally bought it after numerous trips to the shop to carefully examine it, but now I decided to sell it because my daughter is getting married, and I want to use the money to help with the wedding expenses. When my wife and I were at a commercial centre I was handed a tissue pack, and when I called up to inquire they said that they bought GMT-Master watches at high prices, so I decided to bring it in. I was surprised in a good way because it was not at all like the shady image of a buyback store. Not only was the staff very knowledgeable about watches, but we also had a very pleasant conversation, and I was even offered tea. She wore gloves while handling the GMT-Master and explained beforehand about the things she would be looking out for when appraising the watch, which really put my mind at ease. I was offered an agreeable price, so I felt really good about selling the watch.

It was time to sell my GMT, so I brought it in!

I sold my GMT-Master. My wife had gifted it to me when we got married and I really cherished it. However, recently I haven’t had much opportunity to wear it. One day it went missing, and though I managed to find it again, my wife suggested that I sell it before I lost it again. She introduced Jewel Cafe to me, and although buyback stores don’t have a very good image, the staff at Jewel Cafe attended to me wonderfully. I hadn’t really intended to sell my GMT-Master, but I was offered such a shockingly good price that I felt it was some kind of fate and decided to sell it.

I sold a Rolex GMT-Master

I bought a Rolex GMT-Master about 2 to 3 years ago, but I got tired of it and considered buying a new GMT-Master in a different color. While out shopping at the mall, I saw a sign that read "We buy Rolexes!”, which made me curious about how much a GMT-Master could sell for. The store had a very approachable atmosphere, so I stopped by while shopping. It was my favorite GMT-Master that I wore all the time, both privately and at work, so it had some minor scratches on the glass and strap. I thought that the value of the watch would drop significantly, so I was shocked that the GMT-Master I brought in turned out to be worth more than I had expected. I have other GMT-Master watches at home that I’ve gotten tired of and don’t wear anymore, so I will bring them along in the future.

I sold a GMT-Master that had no accessories

I have always loved Rolex watches and keep a collection of them. I usually have all the boxes and accessories carefully stored away, but I lost the accessories for the GMT-Master while moving house. I was worried that I would not be able to sell it, but Jewel Cafe still offered me a high appraisal price nonetheless. Since I have become interested in a new watch and have no plans to wear the GMT-Master anymore, I decided to sell it. I have other watches besides the GMT-Master that I no longer have the occasion to wear, so next time I will bring them to Jewel Cafe too. Thank you so much!

I sold my GMT-Master!

I had bought this GMT Master with a loan when I was still single. I wanted it so badly that I took out a loan to buy it, but now that I am married with three children, their education fees have really started to add up. So, I reluctantly began to think about selling the watch. I heard that GMT-Masters could fetch a very good price, so I brought it to Jewel Cafe after searching on the Internet for a well-reviewed shop. I still had the box and guarantee card, so I brought them along with me. Moreover, there was an ongoing cash rebate campaign at the store. All in all, I was able to sell my 10-year-old GMT-Master for a lot more money than I thought! You have been a great help, thank you so much! Thank you!!!!

Ways to sell Rolex GMT-Master
at a higher price

How to Sell Rolex GMT-Master at a High Price〈 1 〉

Sell your Rolex as soon as possible if you have decided that you won’t be using it

The price of a Rolex varies depending on the model, but it can also fluctuate depending on the production year and reference number. For example, popular models with a relatively newer year and reference number can fetch a higher market price. Also, since demand tends to vary depending on the model, we recommend that you sell your Rolex as soon as you have decided that you will not be using it.

How to Sell Rolex GMT-Master at a High Price〈 2 〉

Sell your Rolex with its warranty card and accessories for a higher price

Be sure to keep the warranty card, box, spare parts, and instruction manual that came with your Rolex when you purchased it. Without the warranty card, you may not be able to receive an authorized service or repair. Therefore, the purchase price of a Rolex will vary greatly depending on whether it has a warranty card. In addition, if the watch does not come with spare links, this limits its range of adjustable sizes, which may result in a lower price. That’s why it is advisable to keep all accessories carefully without throwing them away.

How to Sell Rolex GMT-Master at a High Price〈 3 〉

Remove the dirt from your Rolex and keep it clean to sell it at a higher price

The key to increasing the appraisal value of a Rolex is to clean it as much as possible beforehand. Even a simple cleaning at home, such as wiping the glass surface or removing dirt from the crevices of the strap, can impact the appraisal value. If your Rolex has not been serviced for a long time, it is a good idea to just bring it in as is. Of course, a watch that has been serviced will fetch a higher price, but Rolexes can be expensive to repair and it may take many months. Considering the downsides, it is recommended to bring in the watch without getting it serviced.

About the purchase of GMT-Master watches

The history of Rolex begins in London. It is said that there are currently some 600 Swiss watchmaking companies, many of which were established more than 100 years ago. However, only a handful of these have maintained operations uninterrupted to the present day. One such company is Rolex, whose founder Hans Wilsdorf was born in Bavaria, Germany in 1881. At the tender age of 12, he lost both his parents, dropped out of school, and began working for Cuno Korten, a Swiss watchmaker in La Chaux-de-Fonds. There, he was tasked with the export of English watches, which allowed him to develop his business acumen from a young age. In 1903, he moved to London at the age of 22, and two years later in 1905, he founded Wilsdorf & Davis, the predecessor of Rolex. Five years later, in search of "a creative and easily-pronounceable word", he renamed the company to the Rolex brand which we all know today. In 1910, he entered into a partnership involving watch movements with Aegler, a Swiss company skilled in the manufacture of precision instruments, and obtained the highest level of certification from the Official Swiss Chronometer Testing Institute (COSC).

In 1914, Rolex was awarded the highest recognition from the Kew Observatory. Hans Wilsdorf's next goal was to develop a sturdy case capable of protecting the watch’s movement from dust and moisture, so in 1926, in cooperation with Oyster Watch Co., he developed and patented a case made of hollowed-out metal and a screw-in crown. Thus the Rolex Oyster was born, Rolex’s trademark mechanism that remains to this day. A certain legendary event made the Rolex Oyster famous across the world: in 1927, a stenographer from London by the name of Mercedes Gleitze achieved the amazing feat of swimming across the Strait of Dover in 15 hours and 15 minutes, and she did so while wearing a Rolex Oyster on her wrist.

The fact that the Rolex was able to withstand such extreme conditions proved the incredible water resistance of the Oyster case, which in turn prompted the accelerated development of waterproof watches among other manufacturers. The success of the Rolex Oyster made a name for Rolex worldwide for its watchmaking technology, and the company next turned its attention towards developing a self-winding watch. In 1931, Rolex produced the very first wristwatch to feature a 360-degree full-rotation self-winding mechanism, thereby overcoming the biggest issue with automatic winding up to that point, which was the poor efficiency of the winding mechanism. This technology dramatically improved the winding efficiency, further augmenting Rolex's innovative capabilities.

The integration of this mechanism of perpetual movement into the prized Rolex Oyster produced the Oyster Perpetual, fondly nicknamed "the Bubbleback" in the antique market today because the rotor for winding the mainspring is positioned over the movement, causing the watch to be unusually thick as the back was rounded like a bubble to accommodate the rotor. In 1945, another revolutionary invention was added to the Oyster Perpetual: the Datejust. As the name suggests, the date display automatically rolls forward each day at midnight, which was a groundbreaking mechanism at the time. These three major inventions — the Oyster case of 1926, the Perpetual mechanism of 1931, and the Datejust mechanism of 1945 — mark the perfection of Rolex's practical watch design.
