If a jewelry item is 18 karats or also known as 750WG, this simply means that it is consists of 18 parts gold while the other 6 parts are made up of other metals. This purity of gold is harder to hold diamonds for example than yellow gold which consists 91.6% of gold or 22 karats. The purchasing price for new brand white gold jewellery is relatively more expensive plus if it comes with diamonds than its reselling price because of the workmanship cost to make the design beautiful.

A lovely Malay couple brought jewellery for estimation. The wife didn't wear her white gold earrings and wanted to sell them. After asking about the price, and we explained to her that white gold has a lower resale value than yellow one, she understood right away.
