WHAT IS WHITE GOLD?

White gold is an alloys, made of combination of gold mixed with other metals (palladium, nickel, silver, manganese, platinum or zinc). All these other metals used to create white color in white gold. White gold is actually not really white. In facts, it can range from faint yellow to brownish tints.

Over the time, the rhodium coating becomes worn, revealing the yellow gold color underneath.

Even environmental factors, like how much pollution there is in your area, can influence how quickly the yellow gold begins to show through. IS WHITE GOLD REAL GOLD?

A hallmarking is a small symbol stamped on the inside of a piece of jewelry that identifies it as a certified and authentic. 

HOW MUCH PURE GOLD IN WHITE GOLD?

Normally, white gold jewelry don’t have their specific Hallmark. But in the gold industry, for white gold they will use Hallmark such as 750, 585, 375 and etc. All these Hallmark is actually as same as yellow gold. And these Hallmark is represent percentage of pure gold used for your white gold.

For example, 750 is containing 75% pure gold, 585 containing 58.5% pure gold and 375 containing 37.5% of pure gold and the rest is other metals. So, the valuation of white gold is depend on percentage of pure gold in your jewelry. As we mention before, when you bought white gold, the price will be higher charged because based on design, workmanship, and other aspect like with or without diamond or any other precious stone. Cop panas dilakukan untuk mengukir logo dan menulis nombor siri pada sesebuah beg tangan. Biasanya terdapat di tanda label. Untuk menentukan ketulenan sesebuah beg tangan anda harus melihat dengan terperinci di logo dan di setiap huruf. Kemas, tepat, sekata bahkan tiada warna yang terdapat di luar huruf adalah beg yang asli manakala tidak kemas, tidak sekata, kasar serta terdapat warna berlebihan di luar huruf biasanya adalah beg yang palsu.

Tanda label bahagian depan akan dicop Christian Dior logo manakala bahagian belakang dicop nombor siri beg tangan tersebut. Cop logo merangkumi kata-kata “Christian Dior PARIS” dengan “Made in Italy” atau “Made in Spain” di bawahnya.

GOLD GRADES OTHER THAN 916/999

So, some of them didn’t aware about other grades and this situation will make them feel lost lot of amount especially when they try to sell their gold back. Today we want to share with you about gold grades.

GOLD ARE GRADED BY PURITY

K24/999.9/9999

Gold is graded in karat / carat. A karat (carat) is a measurement of the fineness of gold. The gold grade expresses the proportion of gold in a gold alloy or the quality of that gold alloy. Pure gold or fine gold is 24 karat / 24 carat (24K, 24 kt, 24 ct, K24) or 999/999.9 is the grade of gold bullion (gold bar). Pure fine gold is very soft and malleable and does not lend itself well to gold objects that receive a lot of wear, as pure gold wears easily. Not many jewelries made out from K24 gold grades. Normally, this grades used widely in gold bar or gold coin.

K22/916

The grades of gold reduce in karat fineness as more non-gold metal (alloy) is mixed with gold. . The next grade down from pure gold is 22 karat (K22) or 916 , which is somewhat harder but is still easily worn away, especially if in contact with gold of lower grades. K22 gold is used in some gold coins and commonly in jewelries. This gold grades we can easily found nowadays.

K18/750

18 karat (K18)  or 750 is used for high quality jewelries and is the most commonly used grade in Continental European jewelries. This grades we can found normally in White Gold or the jewelries that have diamond or stone. It is considerably harder than the two previous grades so that it is more stable made it with any other stone or diamond. But please bear in mind that this gold grades especially white gold color, the price sometime is higher than K22 price. It is because workmanship and design for white gold make the price a bit expensive. But when you want to sell it in future you will lost quite a big amount because the percentage of gold in this grades is only 75%. Most of goldsmith shop will buy it follow the market purchased rate for gold proportion. Not value of the design.

K14/585

This gold grades also commonly used because this is considerably harder than the most common gold grade. We can found it used in jewelries with big stone such as Jade, Sapphire, Ruby, Pearl, Gem, Crystal and many more.  But most of jewelries that we received from our customer using this grades is old design jewelries. Many now use of big stone become not too popular. This grades also commonly used for man’s ring with stone.

K9/375

This gold grades is widely used in white gold. Many goldsmith will use this gold grades for rings or earrings. You will found it in white gold color and seldom in yellow gold color. We consider this grades is the lowest grades for gold. It’s only contain 37.5% of gold although have K8/333 but K9/375 is often found in the market compared to K8/333. So this also make the price not too high when you want to sell it back.

OTHER GOLD GRADES

There’s also have more gold grades but they are not often brought by our customer.  K23/965, K21.6/22K/900, K20/835, Cin Gam (Chinese seal), K10/417 and K8/333.

We can identified our gold grades by finding it stamped at our jewelries or gold. But the stamping has not always been the same. It is depends also to goldsmith shop or brand. And other countries different gold hallmarking. So any piece of jewelry can have a karat grade or a fineness number stamped on it.

FONT

First thing need to check is the font of the watch, pay attention to every numerals and each word on the surface of the watch. The fake watch must have some point that not follow the brand’s usual standard especially on their finishing. One of the ways is you can compared your watch with the same genuine model watch in the internet if you are not 100% sure your watch is fake or original.

Another thing is to focus on the printing quality of the Hublot logo. The fake one is too poor as you can see the logo will looks faded. Opposite from the geneuine Hublot watch, which is smooth and sharp.

DATE WINDOW

CLASP & RUBBER

The genuine Hublot watch has high quality rubber, you can see the quality of the logo imprints on the rubber. The fake watch also can copy that but mostly are not smooth and poor quality materials.

In addition, the clasp on the fake watch is very lightly engraved with the logo, while the original watch is deep stamping, very smooth and quality logo engraved on the clasp.

MOVEMENT

If you open the backcase, the fake watch used plastic to keep the movement in place. The rotor is not branded, the movement is not decorated, you can see many unpolished edges. DIFFERENT BETWEEN K18 AND K9

Karat is often expressed with the letter K. For example, 9K or 18K gold.

So that means K9 is same with 375 white gold and K18 same with 750 white gold.
