On 19 October 2026, the Jewel Cafe team visited Tender Hearts KL, an organisation supporting youths with special needs in developing life skills, confidence, and independence.
Through cookie-making and lunch preparation, our team shared laughter, learned together, and connected with the youths and their families. Conversations with parents also offered valuable insights into their daily challenges and the importance of having a supportive community.
Among the inspiring individuals we met were Azri, a talented artist who transforms his drawings into merchandise, and Hugo, whose keen sense of smell inspired him to create essential oils and handmade soaps. Their creativity reminded us that everyone has unique strengths waiting to be discovered.
What stood out most was the dedication of Tender Hearts KL in nurturing each youth’s potential. Every small achievement represents another step towards greater confidence and independence.
For Jewel Cafe, this experience went beyond giving back. It was about listening, understanding, and appreciating the different journeys people take in life.
We left with a meaningful reminder: kindness begins with connection, and everyone deserves the opportunity to grow, shine, and be valued for who they are.
