Jewel Cafe’s estimation procedure, AEON Bukit Raja Klang.

Yesterday we shared about the “What is Gold?”. So today we are pleased to share about “How Jewel Cafe do the estimation?”. 

In Jewel Cafe we have our own procedure in how we estimate/appraise gold item. That is the step that we have in our Standard Operation Procedure (SOP). Let us share with you how we appraise them once you bring your gold to us.

Jewel Cafe estimation SOP:

1. Magnet – We will use a magnet to test the item where real gold will not stick to the magnet. 
2. Loop – We will use the loop to check the hallmark on the item. The hallmark usually like 999, 916, 750 and etc, sometime there will be a Chinese character and sometime there will be a mark like 24K, 22K, 18K and etc. 
3. Weighing scale – We will use the weighing scale to check the weight of the item.
4. Density – We will use the density machine to check the the purity of the gold where we have the density range for each type of gold. For example, density range for 999 gold will be 19.13 ~ 19.51.
5. Acid test – This will be our last step to check especially for the hollow item and item that is very light where density machine cannot give a reading. We will scratch on the special stone (it won’t effect the item) and drop the acid on spot. If it real gold then the spot won’t faded/disappeared. 

Since we are Japan No. 1 Jewelry Recycle Store so all the estimation we will do in front of customer. But still, with our friendly environment we provide you a coffee space for you to enjoy your free drinks that we serve while you waiting for us to estimate your item. 

If you have old/dingy unwanted jewelry like yellow gold, white gold, platinum and diamond bring to us for free estimation and we will pay cash immediately if you agree to sell to us. We also can accept even single part of earring.
